With this new medical device for the AirSolutions system solution, ResMed offers an even more powerful ASV therapy device. It is intended to stabilize breathing in patients with central sleep apnea (CSA), mixed sleep apnea, and periodic breathing, with or without upper-airway obstructions.

• ASVAuto mode – EPAP is adjusted automatically to deliver no more pressure than necessary to open the airways.

• Therapy summary data (365 days) can be viewed in ResScan™, EasyCare Tx, or wirelessly with AirView.
• AirView also provides 30 days of detailed data; ResScan additionally provides high-resolution data for precise therapy monitoring.

Alarms for safety

• Fixed and adjustable alarms can be set for high leaks, low minute ventilation, non-vented masks, and low SpO2 (when an oximeter is connected).

PaceWave as a solution for central sleep apnea occurring as a consequence of therapy

• Everyone in a sleep laboratory knows the problem:
• A patient with obstructive sleep apnea is titrated to the required CPAP pressure. After several increases in pressure, the obstructive apneas decrease, but central apneas develop.
• If the therapy pressure is reduced again, the central apneas decrease, but the obstructive apneas remain untreated – this phenomenon is known and described as complex sleep apnea.
